I’m joining the 2013 TBR Pile Challenge!
My poor bookshelves are overflowing with books that have been neglected
Poor babies! This challenge is perfect for me. It’s time to dig in and read those books that have been waiting ever-so-patiently!
The Goal: To finally read 12 books from your “to be read” pile (within 12 months). For this challenge, all books must have been published prior to January 1, 2012.
Here’s my list:
- Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl (Published December 1st 2009)
- Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor (Published September 27th 2011)
- Soulless by Gail Carriger (Published October 1st 2009)
- Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione (Published April 1st 2011)
- City of Bones by Cassandra Clare (Published March 27th 2007)
- The Faerie Ring by Kiki Hamilton (Published September 27th 2011)
- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (Published March 14th 2006)
- Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton (Published February 15th 2011)
- Daughter of the Blood by Anne Bishop (Published March 1st 1998)
- Nightshade by Andrea Cremer (Published October 19th 2010)
- Tiger’s Curse by Colleen Houck (January 11th 2011)
- Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter (Published March 29th 2011)
Alternatives:
- Wither by Lauren DeStefano (Published March 22nd 2011)
- The Hollow by Jessica Verday (Published September 1st 2009)
I’m ashamed to show everyone my list because they are books that everyone has been raving about (some of them for years!) and I haven’t gotten to them yet. Hopefully, this challenge will remedy that situation
Are you participating this year? If so, share a link to your post so I can check out your list and GOOD LUCK!
Theresa

Oh I should do this too!!! LOL
Yeesh! WHere to start???
Great list Theresa! Larissa Ione would have to be on my list too…
Lisa
Thanks Lisa! I’m really embarrassed to say that I have yet to read a Larissa book, even though I own a few of them. D’oh! And you should do it! It’s one book a month, so even with our insanely crazy editing schedule this year, I think you could handle it. LOL
One book a month is definitely a good goal!!! We are going to have a crazy busy year in 2013!!! LOL
Hmm…. I’ll work on it…
Lisa
Don’t be embarrassed! *Everyone* has books on their TBR shelf that they haven’t read yet *everyone else* has been raving about them! : ) I almost put the Fairy Ring on my list too, but hesitated. I forgot about Soulless. I started it, but only got through a page or two before another book seduced me away. Maybe I should put that on my alternative list.
Thanks hon! I checked out your list but forgot to comment *hangs head*. I must have changed my list a dozen times before publishing this post. I have soooo many books waiting to be read. LOL
Welcome to the Challenge, Theresa! I’m glad you’re joining us. First, you actually 12 books on your list + 2 alternates if you want them (so you would have 14 books, if you’re including 2 alternates). Hope that makes sense. I have read the first 2 books i nthe Cassandra Clare series and enjoyed them – I’ll probably read City of Glass at some point this year. I really, really need to read The Book Thief – it’s been on my shelf for YEARS! I don’t know much about these others, so I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts!
Thanks Adam! That’s what I get for trying to put together a post on a Saturday night.
I’ll add a couple of more and will definitely be going to check your list out. I know I’ve added a few books to my TBR based on your opinion, so I’m sure I’ll find more. Thanks for hosting such a great challenge!
Good luck with reaching and surpassing your goal, Theresa!
