3 Star Rating: What Does It Mean?

3 Star Rating Event

3 Star Rating: What It Means Here on FIF

Morning Lovelies!  A couple of weeks ago, I was approached by one of the reviewers at Bitten by Paranormal Romance about participating in this event. After attending the Book Bloggers and Publishers online conference and hearing what authors thought 3 star ratings meant, I realized that there is a huge difference between their perception and mine. Hopefully, this post will clear up the confusion. :)

From my review policy page:

3/5 star rating3 /5 – Enjoyable!  Maybe borrow it before committing yourself to a purchase.

Q: What book would you love to see made into a movie or television show and do you have actors/actresses in mind to play the main characters?

A:  This is a tough question for me. There are so many great books out there to choose from!  I would love to see Hard Spell by Justin Gustainismade into a television series.  Hard Spell was a fun read with tons of action.  Since I’m horrible with keeping up with actors/actresses, I don’t have a preference for those, except… Continue reading

Discussion: Should books have ratings on the covers (like video games)?

Discussion time!

Should books have parental ratings (similar to video games) on their covers?

Morning lovelies!  This week’s discussion is something I thought about while shelving books at the bookstore last week.  I was going through all of the YA and juvenile fiction, trying to get them organized, when I realized how much easier it would be for me if there were little parental rating images on the books.  You know the ones I’m talking about… the ones that you see on every video game produced.

Now, I want to be clear on a couple of things.  I am in… Continue reading

Are witches replacing vampires?

Morning lovelies!  Happy Saturday :)   While reading some blogs this morning, an idea struck me.  There are so many new books coming out that are focusing on witches, Salem, etc.  Personally, I have always been fascinated with anything to do with the Salem witch trials and have been adding books to my wishlist on a regular basis.  Here are just a few that I’ve added and can’t wait to read:

Her Dear and Loving Husband by Meredith Allard

Question for reviewers…

when you’re feeling like this…

How do you organize yourself?

Morning lovelies!  Happy Hump Day!  I need your advice on something.  Normally, my online life is fairly organized.  I can organize book tours, posts, handle tons of emails, etc.  BUT… my book organization is seriously lacking!  Not the books themselves, (although I do need another bookshelf), but which books I need to read and when.  I was keeping a short list and checking them off as I completed the review, but that’s not good enough.  I need a way to keep track of the books I need to read, when… Continue reading
