Zoe: I was having a bad work day on the Zodiac when I thought that line. I radioed the whale watch captain behind me, asking for a little space while we were tagging humpback whales. He gave me the silent treatment. Most of the Aussie captains are friendly and welcoming, but this one seemed thoroughly put out that I couldn’t get a tag on fast enough and move out of his way. Sorry, dude, but the research permit trumps your whale watch license. End of discussion.

She helps me see beyond the mile-high piles of shite to the goodness that lies somewhere beyond. Sometimes you have to surf the shite rainbow to get to the pot of gold, but with Zed in my corner, it’s not so bad.

From EXHALE: “You can’t stand it, can you? I’m the one getting shit done here, while you sit around buggering yourself with your brooding thumb, watching the world pass you by. You’re pathetic, Sinnder. Really pathetic.”

Sinnder: Scarlet enjoys trying to get a rise out of me. If she knew how dangerous that was, she’d keep her bloody mouth shut. Although, I do like watching her ego flare. It leads to amusing displays of rage, screams, and/or loss of clothing. As long as you’re not the trigger, Scarlet’s infantile fits can be quite entertaining. Her arrogance is her fatal flaw.

Zoe: These lines sum up my feelings for Gavin better than any others. My poor guy is plagued with bad luck, but even when he screws up royally, I love him. His heart is good. He does what he does for all the right reasons, no matter how wrong they may seem. I wouldn’t have him any other way.
