Man of my dreams!

11-21-2011: Never to be forgotten! Today is the day that Ian Somerhalder responded to me on facebook! Hey, that may not be a big deal for you, but for me.. HUGE. *swoon*

Conversation copied from FB:

Ian Somerhalder: Thank you Theresa!

Sunday Status: Books, Work, & Life in General

Sunday Status

week of: July 8 – July 14

What I’m Reading:

Last Rite by Lisa Desrochers

I’m actually reading two books right now and loving them both. I’m almost finished with Lisa Desrocher’s LAST RITE, the last of the Personal Demons trilogy. I absolutely LOVE this series and will be sad to see it end. If you haven’t picked these up yet, do it!

Wake by Amanda Hocking

The other book I started is WAKE by Amanda Hocking. This is a different read for me since I have never read anything about water/mermaid/whateveritis (haven’t read far enough to figure it out yet), but I’m really enjoying it. WAKE is also my first Amanda Hocking book and I’m liking her style.

I have four reviews to write and will have them posted very soon. Alma Katsu’s TAKER series is definitely one of my favorites of all time, so be sure to check out the reviews of THE TAKER and THE RECKONING later this week. I’ll also be reviewing Linda Poitevin’s SINS OF THE SON, part of a really great urban fantasy series. Lastly, I’m hoping to finally get my review of THE IMMORTAL RULES written. It was one of the best vampire books I’ve read in quite a while.

What I’m Working On:

COVET Ok…this is where the updates are BIG. Remember how I told you that the hiring policy at Entangled Publishing changed at the same time I was previously hired? After some communication and a bit of waiting, I SIGNED A CONTRACT! I am *officially* the newest Associate Editor for Entangled Publishing’s COVET line! My information isn’t listed there yet, but I assure you, it’s true. :D I’m overjoyed to be editing for a line that encompasses my favorite genres, and a publisher that I highly respect and believe is on their way to greatness.

Also, while I was waiting for word from Entangled, I tested for an editing position with MuseItUp Publishing. I’m happy to report that I have also signed a contract with them as a Line Editor!

My career is finally taking off and I’m truly ecstatic about the possibilities ahead of me. :)

Life In General:

Business at the bookstore is definitely picking up. I’ve been working four days per week instead of the two days per week that I work in the winter. Thankfully, my boss is fabulous and lets me cut out in time to attend any baseball practices/games for the youngest boy. This season, there have been a LOT of practices and games because they WON THE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP AND WILL BE HEADED TO THE MICHIGAN STATE TOURNAMENT! I am extremely excited to watch them play and so very proud of all the boys! They worked their butts off to get this far and definitely deserve the title. We will be heading downstate next weekend for the tournament, so please send good thoughts for the boys!

As I’m sure you have noticed, the posts have been lacking the last few weeks. I have been trying to get more done, and will (hopefully) be back to at least five posts per week very soon. Thank you for hanging in there!

Theresa
