Giving Thanks

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I have to take a moment this morning to say THANK YOU. This won’t be an all-inclusive list, but rather everything my six-o’clock a.m. caffeine-deprived brain could think of.
1. Health of my family (and my family itself).
Some of you know already, some of you don’t, but after watching my father fight (and win) his battle against lung cancer, I am extremely grateful my family is healthy! Watching him battle that monster gave me a new appreciation of every day we go unharmed.
2. My employment with Entangled Publishing.
Five years ago, even two years ago,… Continue reading

Wake (Watersong #1)
by Amanda Hocking
Expected Pub: Aug 7, 2012 by St. Martin’s Press
Beautiful. Fearless. Dangerous. They’re the kind of girls you envy; the kind of girls you want to hate. Strangers in town for the summer, Penn, Thea, and Lexi have caught everyone’s attention, including the eye of practical Harper. But it’s her sister, Gemma, they’ve chosen to be part of their group.
Sixteen-year-old Gemma seems to have it all – carefree, pretty, and falling in love with the boy next door. But her greatest passion has always been the water. She craves late… Continue reading

This week, I’m daring all PNR/UF lovers to read:
Children of Paranoia
by Trevor Shane
ALL WARS HAVE RULES
Rule Number One: No killing innocent bystanders.
Rule Number Two: No killing anyone under the age of eighteen.
BREAK THE RULES, BECOME THE TARGET
Since the age of eighteen, Joseph has been assassinating people on behalf of a cause that he believes in but doesn’t fully understand. The War is ageless, hidden in the shadows, governed by a rigid set of rules, and fought by two distinct sides-one good, one evil. The only unknown is which side is which. Soldiers in the War hide in plain sight, their deeds disguised as accidents or random acts of violence amidst an unsuspecting population ignorant of the brutality that is always inches away.
Killing people is the only life Joseph has ever known, and he’s one of the best at it. But when a job goes wrong and he’s sent away to complete a punishingly dangerous assignment, Joseph meets a girl named Maria, and for the first time in his life his singleminded, bloody purpose fades away.
Before Maria, Joseph’s only responsibility was dealing death to the anonymous targets fingered by his superiors. Now he must run from the people who have fought by his side to save what he loves most in this world. As Children of Paranoia reaches its heart-in-throat climax, Joseph will learn that only one rule remains immutable: the only thing more dangerous than fighting the War…is leaving it.
Join in and stretch your genre boundaries!
As a PNR/UF lover, I very rarely go outside of my comfort zone to read a new book. Unfortunately, I think it’s causing me to miss out on some fantastic reads! Stretch Your Boundaries is a monthly meme where bloggers dare readers to read a book that is outside of their normal genres. Every FIRST Saturday of the month, we will Stretch Our Boundaries!
Your mission, if you choose to accept it
:
- create a post containing the information of the book you are daring people to read
- be sure to include what genre lover you are daring (I’m daring all PNR readers to try…)
- enter your information in the linky below
- if you choose to accept a dare, be sure to comment on that blog post and let the blogger know!
- NEXT MONTH, post another dare book and a review of the book you read (if you accepted a dare) and come back here to the NEW post and link up!
- plz remember that if you dare too far outside of someone’s comfort zone, it might be harder to get people to read your suggestion
- You DO NOT have to accept a dare to participate, simply daring someone in your post is all you need to do!
Personally, I’m really looking forward to seeing the books suggested. There are some books out there that have gotten rave reviews and I haven’t read them because the are outside of my normal genres. Hopefully, Stretch Your Boundaries will expose all of us to a great new book that we may have never read normally.
So, that’s it! Visit the participating blogs in the linky below. If you are posting your own Stretch Your Boundaries post, feel free to grab the linky code and use it in your post.
I dare you to STRETCH YOUR BOUNDARIES!
Theresa

Morning lovelies! As always, my list doesn’t necessary hold only new releases. Today’s list showcases some of the series that i haven’t started because I haven’t gotten my hands on them yet!
The Magicians & The Magician King
by Lev Grossman
The Magicians:
Like everyone else, precocious high school senior Quentin Coldwater assumes that magic isn’t real, until he finds himself admitted to a very secretive and exclusive college of magic in upstate New York. There he indulges in joys of college-friendship, love, sex, and booze- and receives a rigorous education in modern sorcery. But magic doesn’t bring the happiness… Continue reading
